Belchamp Walter in the news
Having found some interesting articles on the Foxearth website and the British Newspaper Archive I am reviewing my options.
The Foxearth website offers an archive of local newspapers and even offers a search function. They make comment that Google is useful in finding the content, about which I concur. Knowing that a search function is not easy to implement and being of the mind that ANY Internet search should be able to find content if it is uploaded to a website properly.
In keeping with many other web-based enterprises the British Newspaper Archive wants you subscribe. So far I am less than impressed with their search function and I am of the opinion this may not be any better if I do pay them money. The subscription model is getting a little tiresome, as it is with geneological/family tree websites. The "hook" is that they have the information that you are looking for, all you need to do is sign-up.
Much the same can be said about Parish records, County Archives (Essex and Suffolk) and census data. These are all commercial enterprises.
All that being said, I have found some interesting articles that relate to the village of Belchamp Walter. Many of these articles are featured on pages that the articles are reporting.
Examples of this are those that relate to the families of Belchamp Walter.
