What was happening in Belchamp Walter at the time of major events in the country
The history of Belchamp Walter has not been addressed in this light. Quite the opposite, what was happening in the country may have been discussed when specific events are described.
A prime example of this is what Belchamp Walter was called at the time of Domesday. Although a prime example, and one that is common with a lot of historical accounts, it is an easy one as there are multiple interpretations of Domesday and it serves as a good starting point. The events after Domesday are not so well documented.
A second prime example is the appropration of lands that may have been associated with the de Vere and de Beauchamp familes.

When I started out on the project of piecing together the history of Belchamp Walter I took what I could find and research it in more depth.
A lot of what I found was not put into context with respect to what was going on in the country at the time. Many family names were quoted but very little on why they were relevent to Belchamp Walter.
