Editing and uploading web pages

My concept revolves around creating and uploading files yourself. I.e. not using a Content Management System

Text Editor

Any text editor can be used, I use Notepad++. You can used Notepad, Wordpad or one of many available for free from the Internet. The first two come with your Windows computer. Although I use Notepad++ there are many alternatives.

New pages and editing existing pages are first saved in the text editor and then checked in a web browser on your computer.

File Upload

Any ftp (File Transfer Protocol) agent will do. Your web hosting service is likely to suggest a program.
