The Sparrow (Spring) Dister connection to Raymond
See also Sparrow - I am not sure about the research on this page as a lot of it comes from Fandom and RootsChat and FamilyPedia - As the family names are off the Plantagenet tree there is no real secondary way of checking.
The memorial/tomb in the aisle of St. Mary's is also not explained.
The Raymond Memorial
The Sparrow Family
The Sparrow family of Gestingthorpe are related through the marriage of Anne Raymond daughter of John Sparrow to John Raymond I.
Anne Raymond died in 1643 and is interred in the Raymond family vault in St. Mary's Belchamp Walter.
Thomas Wright in his History and Topography of Essex:
It continued for several generations in the possession of this family. John Wentworth, Esq. of Gosfield, held this
manor at the time of his death in 1588, Raymond and his grandson, Sir John, created a baronet in 1611,
sold it to John Raymond, Esq. of the family of that name, of
Essex and Norfolk, whose ancestors were from Raymond, a place in Kent.
Philip Raymond, of this family, was resident at Hunsdon, in Hertfordshire, and, by his wife Agnes, daughter
and heiress of William Sterne, of Essenden, had Roger, whose son John married Judith, daughter of Chadd Cockayne,
of Cockayne Hatley, in Bedfordshire, by whom he had John Raymond, Esq. the purchaser
of this estate: he married Anne, daughter of John Sparrow, Esq. of Gestingthorpe,
by whom he had John, William, Oliver,
St. Clere; Frances, Elizabeth, Judith, Jane, Sarah, Mary.

Thomas Wright
Thomas Wright's 1831/36 work was used as the original basis for my research. Thomas has proven to be a reliable
source. I have been told that he sourced his research from Phillip Morant.
Wright's account cross-references pretty well with the entries on Alan Freer's family tree of The Descendants of William the Conqueror.
